Traditionally, artists sign their work and David Yurman is no exception. Cable is his signature and the unique sculptural motif that identifies and unifies his body of work. Viewed by most of the world as something essentially utilitarian, cable is a particularly intriguing element to the innovative designer. A simple twist can turn ordinary wire into cable; a simple bend can transform ordinary cable into a bracelet. Expanding on this idea, the Cable Classics Collection for Men introduces an updated cable cuff formed from only two filaments twisted. The design is cable at its simplest. Inspired by a cowboy’s bracelet made of unpolished, twisted cable wire, Yurman saw in it a raw elemental expression that spoke to his aesthetic sensibilities.
