Design Notes

“Gemstones have a beauty unlike anything else because they allow light inside and refract it,” explains David Yurman. He is known for his use of brilliant colored gemstones in bold dimensions and unconventional combinations. “Mixing gemstones is a dynamic balance. The possibilities are infinite,” Yurman notes. Highlighted in settings of unique artistry, they are infinitely beautiful.

The Renaissance Collection

Artists of the Renaissance looked to the classics for inspiration, yet infused their work with innovative techniques and a new aesthetic sensibility. In 1983, David Yurman did the same with the development of his first Cable design, the Renaissance bracelet, which merges sculptural form with the brilliant jewel tones found in classical painting. Cable exemplifies the designer’s motto of "Continuing in the Classic Tradition,” with references to ancient Greek and Roman, Egyptian and Celtic forms. Twisting multiple strands of metal into a cohesive helix, Cable is David Yurman’s iconic design and signature motif.
