Apprenez-en davantage au sujet de notre politique relative aux diamants d’origine sans conflit et de nos normes de qualité supérieure.
In all of its jewelry, David Yurman uses only diamonds procured in accordance with the Kimberley Process. This process was established in 2003 following a United Nations General Assembly resolution to prevent “conflict diamonds” from entering the rough diamond market.
At David Yurman, we are dedicated to ensuring the integrity of our diamond supply chain. Through a system of internal and third-party audits, we hold all our suppliers and manufacturers to the highest ethical standards in sourcing diamonds and manufacturing products with diamonds. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards conflict diamonds—we only use diamonds that are warranted to be conflict-free.
Diamonds begin as carbon many miles below the earth’s surface. Hundreds of millions of years of heat and pressure transform the element into crystalline gemstones before volcanic eruptions propel them to the surface.
Although gem-quality stones are found in only a few places in the world, diamonds are everywhere in the universe—sometimes falling to earth as part of meteorites and interstellar dust. Ultimately their true origins remain a mystery of the cosmos.

Every diamond is a one-of-a-kind gift from the earth, but exceedingly few are accepted by David Yurman.
These carefully selected stones are the captivating centerpieces of our unique engagement rings.
We select diamonds at the high end of each spectrum of the 4C’s—the globally acknowledged standards of excellence developed by The Gemological Institute of America (GIA). All of our diamonds are graded for quality by the GIA, an independent international organization.
From the popular round brilliant to our own patented cushion cut, David Yurman diamonds are works of sculpture, each exquisitely cut and polished by master artisans.
Cut refers to a diamond’s proportion and precision of its facets—the most important factors for the stone’s fire and brilliance. All of the diamonds used in our engagement rings have an “excellent” cut grade, or, in some instances, a “very good” cut. Fancy shaped stones are graded only for polish and symmetry. David Yurman specializes in round and cushion-shaped stones, such as his patented DY Signature Cut™—with defined corners and an elegant curve sloping down the diamond’s edges. Each David Yurman diamond is cut for beauty, even if it means sacrificing more of the rough diamond.
David Yurman’s engagement diamonds range from D (colorless) to I (near colorless) on the diamond color grading chart. David Yurman’s selections are entirely or very close to colorless, each piece a covetable rarity and a symbol of bright days ahead. David Yurman chooses only untreated, natural diamonds in our Wedding Collection. Additionally, David Yurman offers a range of engagement rings with sapphire, emerald and ruby center stones, along with Fancy Intense yellow diamonds for the bride looking to proclaim her love in vivid color.
Generally speaking, the fewer unique characteristics a diamond exhibits, the rarer it becomes. The term “flawless” refers to a diamond completely devoid of any unique characteristics such as inclusions. The term “flaw” is often used to define these unique traits, and measure the diamond’s rarity. For our engagement rings, David Yurman only selects stones from the highest clarity grades—from IF (Internally Flawless) to SI1 (Slightly Included).
Starting at 0.30 carats and going up from there, David Yurman’s engagement diamonds are available in a comprehensive range of weights (carats are a measure of mass—one carat corresponds to 0.20 grams—not size). From the discreetly intimate to the dazzlingly grand, David Yurman offers a stone to match every bride’s individual taste.
All of the diamonds in our engagement rings are accompanied by a grading report by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), a leading independent authority on quality. Each GIA grading report has a unique number that details the individual characters of the diamond and fully assesses the 4 C’s of diamond grading. The unique report number is laser inscribed on the girdle of the diamond to link the stone to its GIA grading report.
