Rodeo Drive
Discover the newly reimagined David Yurman boutique in Beverly Hills. Inspired by California’s vibrant landscape and David and Sybil Yurman’s lives as artists, the new space is an architectural expression of the Yurmans’ artistic approach to form, material, color, and light.
California, The Muse
California has played a formative role in David and Sybil Yurman’s creative lives. As young artists, both traveled West from New York, drawn by the creative counterculture and the freedom from convention.
For Sybil, the journey began with a dream of swimming in the Pacific Ocean at sunset. A burgeoning artist, she sold her paintings to save for the trip. She was drawn by the idea of sunlight and the natural world. In San Francisco, she found herself among the writers, poets, musicians, and artists of the Beat Generation, including Jack Kerouac, Neal Cassady, and Lenore Kandel.
David’s own journey initially brought him to Venice, in Southern California, where he established a studio and continued developing his sculpture practice. A white Honda Dream motorcycle brought him North to San Francisco and eventually Big Sur, where he found inspiration in California’s creative communities. This included what would become the Esalen Institute, a center for artists, thinkers, and new ideas. Like Sybil, he was surrounded by poets, writers, and philosophers who helped shape his life as an artist.
Decades later, that same spirit of freedom, possibility, and connection to nature informs our new Beverly Hills boutique. Golden light, sculptural landscapes, sandy tones, natural stone, and the Pacific Ocean inspire the boutique’s palette and materiality. The result is an interpretation of California through the Yurmans’ eyes, translating the natural character of the landscape into an environment designed for discovery.

California is about freedom, being in nature, and being around people that make art.

Jewelry As The Blueprint
Architect Andrea Tognon drew inspiration for the Rodeo Drive boutique from the Yurmans’ work itself. David’s sculpture, Sybil’s paintings and drawings, and the jewelry they create together provided a creative foundation for the design. The architecture echoes jewelry making, using structural details to hold and frame materials in the same way a setting holds a gemstone.
Within the boutique, David’s sculptural approach can be seen in the interplay of volume and negative space. Like a sculpture, the boutique is designed to be experienced from multiple angles, revealing new forms, textures, and details with each change in perspective.
The boutique’s color, texture, and layered textiles draw from Sybil’s work. Her abstract drawings and paintings incorporate rubbings and impressions drawn from natural surfaces. These natural textures informed Italian-sourced fabrics throughout the space.
Together, these elements transform the Yurmans’ creative dialogue into an immersive architectural composition.
In California, we were all seeking an alternative
to the mainstream. Seeing artists who thought differently, I was able to free myself.

Exceptional materials bring depth, texture, and warmth to the boutique’s interior.
The Facade, Sculpted By Light
Inspired by the Pacific Ocean, the boutique’s glass façade evokes the movement of waves along the coast. Gold reflective material behind the glass interacts with the changing light, allowing the façade to shift throughout the day.
The construction itself borrows from the art of setting a gemstone. Each element is designed to frame the glass and reveal its depth, texture, and reflection, translating principles of jewelry making into an architectural scale.
Exclusively At Beverly Hills
The California story continues through a selection of pieces created exclusively for Rodeo Drive, drawing on the color, light and natural forms that inspired the boutique itself.
